About
This is where Science Meets Soul
Skin can be SO confusing!
You’ve probably tried so many things… products, treatments, advice from every direction – and still feel no closer to knowing why your skin does what it does. That’s exactly what I’m here to change.
Because here’s the thing: Real results come from understanding the cause, not from randomly trying whatever’s next and hoping for the best.
My journey with skin started over 30 years ago, training for 3 years full- time in South Africa and qualifying with a Diploma in Skin Technology. I also sat and proudly achieved the CIDESCO Diploma, a Swiss-based qualification that’s set the international training standard for the aesthetics industry across 40 countries since 1957, continually evolving to keep pace with the science.
That grounding shaped how I still work today: never guessing, always asking why.
Your skin doesn’t operate in isolation. It’s tangled up with your hormones, your stress, your sleep, your whole environment. So if you look at a symptom on its own and you’re only getting half the story and that’s why a proper consultation is where I always start. There’s no guesswork, no random products but rather a solid plan built on the “oh, that’s why!” moment discovered during the consultation.
This is the reason I’ve worked closely with Nimue Skin Technology since 2010 – a brand that shares my core values of working with the skin and not against it paired with the drive for real, science-backed outcomes over quick fixes to get you the best possible outcome. Formulated to actually reach your active cells, not just sit on the surface and quite simply the results speak for themselves: skin that’s genuinely healthier and functioning better – not just polished for the moment.
My love for this brand runs deep and I feel incredibly proud to have been awarded title of Overall International Skin Therapist award twice now – first in 2018, and again in April 2026.
There’s something I feel deep in my heart about being recognised among 16 finalists representing 28 countries, and having it happen on South African soil: the country I was born in, the place I trained, and the home of Nimue itself. I get emotional thinking about how the place that first shaped me, as a person and as a therapist, is the place where it’s all come full circle.
But, what I care about most has never changed, and even after 30+ years, watching someone go from confused to confident in their own skin is still the part I love most.
The Consultation: Where the Guesswork Ends
Before you arrive, you’ll fill in a consultation form, so we’re not sitting around doing paperwork when we could be chatting about what matter most: you and your skin.
We’ll talk through your concerns properly, no rushing and then comes the part that excites me every time — the digital scan. Using multiple wavelengths of light, it reveals what’s happening beneath the surface, not just on it: hydration levels, oil production, sun damage, even the quality of that oil and how it’s affecting your microbiome. The full, unfiltered picture.
But this data’s only part of the story, so I confirm what it’s revealed myself, hands-on – looking, feeling, checking the texture, and matching that against everything the scan just told us.
We finish with a short treatment to reset your skin, giving you the chance to feel exactly how the right products feel on your skin, and me the chance to see precisely how your skin responds.
Not a guess but a plan, built entirely around you.
Silk, Not Calico!
My Philosophy in a Nutshell
If you’ve spent any time around me, you’ll know I have enormous respect for the skin. Think of it like silk, not a calico sack — it’s fine, it’s clever, and it deserves to be handled that way. It works round the clock to protect and repair itself, so rather than fighting it, my philosophy is simple: work with the skin, not against it.
That means:
– Supporting its natural processes
– Strengthening rather than stripping
– Restoring rather than overwhelming
– Focusing on long-term skin health instead of quick fixes
Client-centred, no-nonsense and genuinely down to earth, that’s how I’d describe the way I work. Being confident in your skin isn’t about chasing perfection. It’s about evidence-based support that considers the whole picture, so your skin stays healthier, stronger and more resilient at every stage of life.
That’s also why every new client starts with a full consultation rather than jumping straight into a treatment. Real, lasting change needs an actual plan behind it, not a single great facial and a fingers-crossed hope it holds.
Healthy skin isn’t built in a day. But with the right support, a good plan and a little consistency, amazing things can happen and I’d love to help you get there.
Menopausal Skin Talks in Riddles! Let’s Solve Yours
Accelerated ageing. Sudden dryness. Breakouts you thought you’d left behind in your twenties. Texture changes nobody warned you about. If your skin’s changed and nothing you’re doing seems to touch it, you’re not imagining it – and you’re certainly not alone.
Perimenopause and menopause bring a kind of skin chaos that’s seriously under-talked-about, and I understand it in a way that goes beyond training…. because I’ve lived it too. My own skin turned drier, more sensitive and duller almost overnight, and it sent me looking for real solutions so you don’t have to go through that same overwhelm yourself.
What your skin actually needs right now is real nurturing. Not the heavy-handed tactics that worked for you in your twenties and thirties, which is exactly where so many approaches get it wrong, and where yours might have let you down before.
That’s why I look at your skin as part of your whole system, always digging into what’s really driving the change beneath the surface. Because your skin deserves more than guesswork, I never stop learning about hormones, inflammation, collagen, longevity, or whatever the latest research uncovers through clinical studies and advanced training.
The result for you? No months, or years, of trial and error. Just real solutions, and a plan built entirely around where your skin is right now.
